For nearly two decades, the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary has presented the Seamanship Award to a deserving graduating Recruit from U.S. Coast Guard Training Center Cape May.
The Seamanship Award is presented to the Recruit who demonstrates the highest degree of proficiency during the Seamanship phase of training. Each Recruit receives a Marlinspike Rigging Knife in recognition of their achievement.
The Cape May County Coast Guard Community Foundation has partnered with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary to purchase the knives for the weekly Seamanship Award.
